Beautiful Peruvian ceramic that depicts a group of six different Andean women called “gossiping sisters”, their heads together mouths covered to hide what they are saying. The folk story goes that small villages would hold a market day when all the town would come, and the women would gossip all day. This story became the legend of these sculptures and passed down through the years.
This piece of ceramic is also a whistler. It has a hole in the back that allows blowing, thus emitting different sounds.
Beautiful terra-cotta natural colors. Ceramic original from the Quinua Area in Peru. The piece is also painted with natural colored clay slips, uses earth colors, making contrast between them. Brown, white, red, ochre are some of the more frequently used colors.
