Beautiful saucer bowl handmade in Nicaragua using etching techniques. Depicts Flowers patterns in a combination of colors brown, orange, ochre and green. This handcrafted pottery is original from the Village of San Juan de Oriente in Nicaragua.
The majority of artisans in this village work in small family units and have done so since Pre-Columbian times. With the use of a foot-powered wheel, traditional and contemporary designs begin to take shape. From geometric and nature inspired designs to he technical challenge designs reminiscent of Escher, the artist's style and vision is expressed. Mineral oxides are used most often for the colors and are lead free. These pieces are fired at low temperatures in brick kilns.
