A pair of colorful Peruvian figurines fashioned with their traditional dresses and style. They reflect the traditional clothes worn by the country people of Peru. Beautifully handcrafted, embroidered and decorated with very detailed fabric applications. The clothing was designed with "manta" a traditional Textile from de Andes characterized by its vibrant colors and patterns.
They reflect the different folk customs of Peru such as the Corn offering. This early civilization of South America relied heavily on agriculture, specifically the large-scale production of corn. Maize was cultivated and used as a regular part of their diets. The Andean women is holding a Corn offering. Corn Offerings to the Inca or the Sun God are usual during important ceremonies such as the Inti Raymi or Sun Festival. Her partner is holding a wooden flute, an ancient musical instrument known as "Flauta".
